Profile of Registrar:
Prof. (Dr.) Ghanshyam Singh is the present Registrar of Mata Tripura Sundari Open University (MTSOU), Tripura. He was also the founding Registrar of the Jharkhand State Open University (JSOU), Ranchi, a position which he held from June 2022. Subsequently, he was appointed Director Centre for Internal Quality Assurance, Jharkhand State Open University contributing to its growth and success during his short stint from June 2022. Prior to joining Jharkhand State Open University, Prof. Singh was Director, Distance Education Bureau, Dean (Academics), and Dean (Research) at Himalayan University, (A.P.). He has three decades of experience in teaching, research, and academic administration. He has also served as Professor at Sharda University, Noida, Delhi, as an Associate Professor at Wawasan Open University, Penang, Malaysia and as a Senior Lecturer in Multimedia University, Melaka, Malaysia. He has conducted Open Educational Resources (OER) workshops in the Malaysia, Indonesia, and India.
He holds a Bachelor of Science (Physics), a Master of Science(Physics with specialization Electronics) and a Ph.D. in Electronic Science from the Department of Electronic Sciences, Delhi University, New Delhi. Prof. Singh has published over 51 papers in international/ national journals/ conferences and 2 book chapters. He has guided a number of 21 MTech and 6 Ph.D. students
He has been listed in 2000 Outstanding Intellectuals of 21st Century''2000 Outstanding Intellectuals of 21st Century'Issued by INTERNATIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL CENTRE, CAMBRIDGE ENGLAND, Jul 2014. He has been also awarded the Gold Medal for Innovation in Open & Distance Learning by Wawasan Open University (WOU) for implementing the virtual labs in the stream of Electronics and Telecommunications.
