Message of the Vice Chancellor

Welcome to Mata Tripura Sundari Open University (MTSOU), Tripura, a newly established Open University in the State of Tripura, on the 27th February, 2024 through an Act of the Government of Tripura.

The primary aim of the MTSOU, Tripura has been to provide quality education, skill education and training to the youth of the State of Tripura and the adjoining States through open and distance learning, online and e-learning.

The University aims to develop qualified youth with skill proficiency and competency at different levels as per the National / State qualifications of formal and skill education, to ensure pathways for progression and mobility with flexible learning systems.

The Open and Distance Learning (ODL) and Online Learning (OL) have been acknowledged as viable means of educational empowerment for sections of society unable to pursue formal on-campus education for various reasons. Consequently, it serves as an excellent medium for non-formal education. The Programmes of the University would facilitate access to higher education for individuals unable to benefit from the conventional education system and acquire essential knowledge and skills at their own pace for their development.

The Programmes of the University have been designed by the eminent experts and are developed by the qualified and experienced members of the faculty. The Programmes are approved by the Apex Bodies of the Government of India, and are recognized by the respective statutory bodies of the Government of India for higher education and employment.

We welcome the youth, in - serve personnel, professionals, home – makers to acquire higher education, essential knowledge, competancy and skills for their development through the Programmes of MTSOU, Tripura.
