Governing Body of the University
As per Section 23 of the MTSOU Act, 2024 the following is the Governing Body of the University:
- Chancellor - Ex-officio Chairperson - Sh. Hemant Goyal
- Vice-Chancellor - Ex-officio Member - Prof. Masood Parveez
- Five persons nominated by the Sponsoring Body, of whom two shall be eminent educationists
- Dr. Nameesh Miglani - Member
- Mr. Mukesh Goyal - Member
- Mr. Sidharth Goyal - Member
- Prof. Dinesh Sharma - Member
- Prof. Madhulika Kaushik - Member
- One expert in skill development, education, or other relevant areas from outside the University, nominated by the Chancellor
- Prof. KRS Sambhasiva Rao - Member
- Two persons nominated by the State Government
- Nomination is awaited
- Two representatives of industries, nominated by the Chancellor
- Mr. Pankaj Srivastava -- Member
- Mr. Vishal Goyal - Member
- Registrar of the University - Permanent invitee to the Governing Body (without voting rights)
- Prof. Ghanshyam Singh - Registrar
Powers and Functions of the Governing Body
As the supreme authority of the University, the Governing Body shall exercise the following powers:
- Provide general superintendence, direction, and control over the functioning of the University and exercise all powers conferred by the Act, Statutes, Ordinances, Regulations, or Rules.
- Review decisions of other authorities of the University that may not conform to the Act, Statutes, Ordinances, Regulations, or Rules.
- Approve the budget and annual report of the University.
- Lay down the policies to be followed by the University.
- Recommend to the Sponsoring Body the voluntary liquidation of the University if smooth functioning becomes impossible despite all efforts.
- Exercise such other powers as may be prescribed.
Meetings and Quorum
- The Governing Body shall meet at least three times in a calendar year.
- The quorum for a meeting shall be five members.
This notification comes into force with immediate effect.
