Marconi Debbarma is an Assistant Professor in the Sociology Programme under the School of Humanities and Social Science at Mata Tripura Sundari Open University (MTSOU), Tripura, where he also serves as the Coordinator of the Bachelor of Arts (BA) Programme. A sociologist from Tripura, India, he has a strong academic and research background in the fields of sociology of health, indigenous studies, political sociology, and social movements. He has qualified the UGC-NET examination and is the author of the book “The Modern Sociology of Health, Illness and Health Care.” He has published several research articles in reputed journals, including the Journal of Asian and African Studies (SCOPUS, SAGE Publications), as well as in UGC CARE-listed and other peer-reviewed journals. His scholarly contributions include book chapters on tribal development, the Clean India Campaign, and contemporary world politics. He has presented papers at both national and international conferences and has teaching experience at the higher secondary, undergraduate, and postgraduate levels.
