Janata Sadhan Jamatia is currently serving as an Assistant Professor of Sociology with the additional charge as Assistant registrar at Mata Tripura Sundari Open University (MTSOU), Tripura. He has a Master Degree in sociology from Tripura University (A Central University), an M.Phil. from Sikkim Central University, and a PhD (viva awaited) from Tripura University. His research areas include indigeneity, tribal Culture, and cultural studies. He was awarded the NET Junior/Senior Research Fellowship by the University Grant Commission. He cleared the State Eligibility Test in 2018. He has published articles on Tribal Culture and festivals of Tripura tribes in the UGC-recognized journal Lokaratna publication. He has teaching experience for both UG and PG programs at Tripura University as a PhD research scholar. He has presented research papers and various sociological topics at different academic forums. He has work experience as a counsellor and a sub-divisional program manager under the Tripura National Health Mission.
