Dr Darlong’s research interests span the intersections of society and ecology, risk assessment, research methodologies, digital technologies, social thinkers, religion, education, development studies, UNHCR and South Asia policies. He holds a PhD in Sociology from Tripura University (A Central University) and successfully qualified for the UGC NET and SLET in 2018. He brings 7 (seven) years of academic and administrative experience, having served earlier as Assistant Professor in ICFAI University, teaching assistantship in Tripura University and its affiliated colleges. Beyond academia, Dr Darlong has overseen data-driven project management, intern mentorship and training programmes at prominent organisations including SUSCO (a CSR consultancy) Gurgaon and Delhi-based, earth&us (Environmental Consultant) and Auroville Foundation in Pondicherry and Tamil Nadu, and IL&FS Clusters. He has been the recipient of an Indian Council of Social Science Research Grant, holds Life Membership (and Research Committee RC:  05) of the Indian Sociological Society and has contributed to the Government’s IDP project. His publications include two books (with Global Publishing House and the Govt. of Tripura) and five articles in national and international journals.
